The Disneyland/Disney World apps are a fantastic way to plan your day at the parks and to stay on top of everything going on around you! They are so immersive and interactive and are such a time saver at the end of the day! Using the Disneyland or the My Disney Experience App will help you plan out your day so that you’re making the most of your time at the parks AND getting to do all the things you want to do!

Step ONE: Click the links below to download the latest version of the apps:

STEP TWO: Get to know your app! Here are all of the amazing things you can do with your app:

  1. View Menus and Check Dining Availability - You are able to check for availability at Dine-In Restaurant (although reservations are HIGHLY recommended).

  2. GPS-enabled maps makes exploring easy - quickly open the map function to see where you are in the park, check what quick-service food locations are close by, where the nearest washrooms are, if any rides have super short lines and more!

  3. Cast Member Chat - Have a quick question? Open up the chat box and get a quick response from a Cast Member through the chat function. They can tell you all you need to know about the parks and regulations, linking tickets, finding policies (ex. How big can your cooler be?), and more.

  4. Access the Virtual Queues - this one has a whole blog post coming on it’s own but if you are looking to join a VQ for Rise of the Resistance, Webslingers, or Indiana Jones this is where you do it!

  5. Check Ride and Attraction Wait Times - This is possibly my most used application on this app! The real time wait times for rides and various park attractions. It helps you to know if trekking across the park to a certain ride worth it. You can see how busy another park is before making the change and park hopping. You can also see what rides may be temporarily closed.

  6. Mobile Order Food and Beverages in Advance - I haven’t been in the park since the ONLY way to get food is via mobile ordering but I have heard so many amazing things! You can order your food well in advance and you walk right up to the service counter to collect! No waiting! Just make sure you order early in the day!

  7. Check the Entertainment Schedule and Character Locations - This is great for planning your full day at a park. You are able to add items to your itinerary and create a full day schedule so that you know where you need to be when! If you have a certain character that is on the list to meet. You can plan your fireworks and band shows and make sure you are in the right spot! *

  8. Make Contactless Ticket Purchases - You can attached your credit card to your app making all transactions in the park super easy as you already have your phone out!

  9. Purchase MAXPASS, organize and select your FastPasses* and view your Disney PhotoPass® Photos

  10. If you are staying at a Disney Property Resort you are able to open you hotel room with your app as it’s all connected with your app account.

  11. Play Disney Parks - This is a fun little bonus part of the app (separate download). You can play interactive games while you are waiting in line, you can translate the signs in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, learn park trivia and more!

STEP THREE: Maximize using your app by following these TIPS!

  • Be sure to download the latest version and make sure that your notification AND location services are turned on so you can get the most out of the app's features.

  • Bring a portable charger as you will be using your phone a lot! We have a great one HERE ! They also sell them in the park.

  • Consider purchasing an upgraded data plan for while you are at the park. They do offer wi-fi throughout the park but many people find that the app works better running on data. Especially for getting Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue passes at the 7:00am slot. The wi-fi runs too slow and you will miss out!

*Pre- Covid. At the time of publishing character Meet and Greets are no scheduled and/or available. It will come back!
